Underground Section

Above section

The above ground studio is for Tracey Moffat. I described the above ground studio as a "sequence". The walls of the studio are made out of stone where one side is glass to allow the artist to view the outside in the studio. The floor is made out of timber to bring an aesthetic feeling to the studio. The bottom floor and stairs are made out of concrete allowing the studio and stairs to be supportive and have strength. The stairs are held by steel that is connected to concrete material of triangular pyramids.

The underground studio is for Fiona Hall. I described the underground studio as "prestige". The surrounding structure is made out of concrete to support and make sure nothing breaks. The inside walls are also made out of stone and the floor is also made out of timber to show a similarity between both studios. The spiral staircase is made out of wood, marble and glass to bring an aesthetic pleasing to the studio.

Materials:
- Concrete: Stamped Ashlar
Since this is underground a protective material such as concrete must be placed to prevent damages etc.
- Stone: Sandstone Ashlar Light
Making the design attractive and still safe.

The need of glass makes the design look more spacious and less claustrophobic

(A) Even though I did not study visual arts or d&t in year 11 or 12, i still did artworks during my time in high school similar to the one above. The materials used in this artwork: CDs and oil paint emphasises the intriguing part of this piece. It has a feeling of post modernism and also a similarity to the artist Picasso.

(B) This Melbourne architecture is a great piece due to the remains of a old pillar. This piece maintains its history, however it shares a modern feeling to it because of the "skylights". This shopping centre shows an illusion of the building being very tall due to the "skylights".

(C) This photo of an alleyway containing street art depicts the streets of Melbourne. love the concept of garbage bins to be somewhat eye catching, paradoxical and beautiful. I believe this photo shows an individual's imagination, a fantasy world due to the colour combination.
